Three men enlisted in the 161st Huron Battalion on February 19, 1916. One of these three men did not return home at the war’s end.

654476, BURLING, (Pte.) Lorne, Blyth’s Own enlisted in Blyth, ON on February 19, 1916. He was photographed with Blyth’s Own kneeling in the 2nd front row, 12th from the left.

654470, DUNSMORE, (Sgt) Joseph Monteith, “C” Company enlisted in Clinton, ON on February 19, 1916. His next of kin was Edith Dunsmore of 29 Daly Ave., Stratford, ON.

654492 PteRobtJohnFallis654492, FALLIS, (Pte.) Robert John, “A” Company enlisted February 19, 1916 in Wingham, ON. His next of kin was his widowed mother, Mrs. Helen Fallis of Wingham, ON. Robert J. Fallis was born on February 14, 1894.

Pte. Robert J. Fallis was photographed with the Wingham/Wroxeter/Brussels Boys of the 161st in the 2nd back row, 5th from the left, as identified by J. Currie. His photograph was also featured in The County of Huron War Memorial on page 21.
