Only one man enlisted in the 161st Huron Battalion on March 2, 1916.

654554, MacDONALD, (Pte.) Allan Daniel, “C” Company, enlisted in Bayfield, Ontario. His next of kin was Donald MacDonald of Bayfield, Ontario.

Huron Homefront News – March 2, 1916

161st Huron News – Under the title, “161st Battalion Notes”, the Brussels Post’s column reported that Leslie Lowry, Milton Lake, Wilfred McNaught and James McCallum were among the latest recruits to enlist. It added, “They are soldierly looking lads in their uniforms.”

Enlisted Huron Residents – In the past week, H. McDonald, a cheesemaker in Bluevale, Fred C. Seehaver, a cheesemaker from Molesworth and Wellington Agar, born in Browntown, Morris Township, of Brussels enlisted with the 110th Battalion in Stratford.
