Chester Copeland Enlists in 161st

Enlistments – June 3, 1916

One man enlisted with the 161st Huron Battalion on June 3, 1916, and survived his tour of duty.

654871, COPELAND, (Pte.) Chester Russell, enlisted at the 161st Huron Battalion’s basic training centre, Carling Heights on Dundas Street W., London, ON on June 3, 1916. His next of kin was Mrs. Pearl Copeland of Wingham, ON. He was photographed with “A” Company.

Private Chester Russell Copeland survived WWI. In 1935, Chester Copeland was a returned soldier living at 438 Maitland St. in London, ON.
