161st Battalion Moved to Witley Camp

Battalion Events – February 1917

The 161st Huron Battalion was moved to Witley camp in February 1917. In the March 1, 1917 Goderich Signal, Corporal A.E. Warner wrote, “This is the best camp we’ve been in yet. Our brass band is with us again with some players from the 142nd Battalion. Sergeant Wilf Goodwin is getting the bugle band in shape again though some of his younger buglers were returned to Canada (probably declared physically unfit or underage).”
